Was it on this list that someone recently suggested that peeing on ants'
nests discouraged them? Sounds like an urban legend, but I'd be fascinated
to know if it works. - JTT

Greeting gardening friends I need some Help!
I have so many ants in my garden and yard they are destroying my beds =
and
lawn. I don't use any pesticides and I know that ants are beneficial as
aeraters of the soil but there must be a limit. Last year on one of our
plots the ants were so bad we could not pick our black eyed peas without
masses of them crawling all over us, no kidding. I have read too that =
they
will protect aphids, which means we must have a lot of protected aphids
around our property as well. What can I do to lessen the impact of =
these
ants? I have already noticed this year that they seem to be taking over
again.
Stephen,

I have had some success with using grits...just
sprinkle them down...the ants eat them....thegrits
swell...the ant expires...not a 100% control...but
with other controls it helps...
