I'm getting ready to make up a bunch of bait stations( cottage cheese
container or similar- including lid) Just have to punch holes in them and
load each w/ a scrap of cloth and dollop
of borax/sugar syrup.

To start, I will go w/ 1 part BORAX( "20MULE TEAM "brand- it's in the
laundry soap aisle at the grocery) to 16 parts sugar. Add enough water to
make a syrup.
Commercial TERRO bait stations (of the same ingredients) list borax as 5%
active ingredient, w/ the rest sugar.

I've got hoards of Argentine ants I've been trying to ignore.

Latetest evil is their tending to "cottony- cushion scale"(Icerya purchasi)
on some Japanese Eggplant.
New scale appears daily.. One time shot of an OMRI listed neem spray seems
to have had no effect , and that was after rubbing off all the offending
scale. That ants brought in replacements quickly.

"SUmmer OIL"( paraffinic oil- not "dormant" oil) is listed as control, but
shouldn't be used in temps much over 75-80F.
