Hello Again Friends,

Well, we went out to the garden today (between rain drops, as usual), and
found that our grapevines had become home to about 30 or 40 rose chafers,
which no longer have a need for a home :). We also found what resembled
spider webs on the back side of some of the leaves. These leaves had been
partially eaten, and the leaves curled backward, toward the weblike
structures. The webs were roughly the size of a nickel or quarter, and each
web had a large number of dark brown or black things on them which were
about the size of a pinhead. It was very difficult to tell if they were
alive because of the size. In one of the webs I found a light green insect
about 1/4 inch long, it was oblong shaped, and had antennae. Can anybody
suggest what the small black-brown things are (they were only found on the
web), and what was the 1/4 inch green insect? I destroyed all I could find,
but don't know if the green insect could have been a beneficial insect
eating aphids or whatever. We lost all of our grapes last year and I would
really like to get a few this year. I picked off all infected leaves and put
them and their inhabitants in a small container of gasoline. All help will
be appreciated once again.
