Very nice, both the orchid and images....I think you did a great job when
you caught the texture and shading on those orchid flowers.

Are the ladyslippers growing in your space...or someplace nearby?

Good morning , fellow gardeners. It is a dreary day here in Nova Scotia
but warmer. rain is in the forecast. Good things there are lovely plants
inside the house to sustain us.

Hi Barb, Andy did a great job on capturing the orchid, didn't he? he had
to reduce the resolution several times so we could email it. the file of
the whole image was huge. Over 350 kbs.
The lady slippers are growing around in the woods here. These particular
shots are in a wilderness park in a small community not far from here.
We have to drive to things for now because I can't walk very far.
The crews grubbed off a bit of scrub barren for a roadway to open a new
section of camping area and when my husband went in to do some tidying
up, he was blown away. The lady slippers had just peppered the place. It
was unbelievable. he came and got me and the camera and we spent the
evening counting them. There were hundreds.
We had a wonderful year for them last year. They were everywhere.
I haven't any lady slippers here on the property but I do have two wild
ones in the ditch out front. I don't have pictures of them. Steve did
take pictures but we don't know what happened to them. We haven't seen
them at all so maybe we lost the film or it awaits a pick up but where?
I don't know.
One is a ladies tresses and another, a tway blade, I think.
The snow plow may have written them off as the bank collapsed under it
this last month. We will have to wait and see.
