
I would gladly adopt the Woodduck for our state bird! They are so
beautiful. We have a lake on our property and in the early Spring we often
have as many as 20 of them out where we sprinkle feed for the birds. They
are very shy and fly away at the least disturbance. Once in a hwile they
nest here and it is so fun to watch the teeny little ones with their jerky
little head motions just like Mom's. We also hjave great blue herons,
kingfishers, swallows, Pileated woodpeckers, buffle heads, mergansers,
canada geese, beavers and otters. It is heaven on earth! Linda in the
