trellises at lowes was fertilizing clematis now fertilizing lilacs

Speaking of trellises, I bought 2 at Lowe's last year, and I want more =
to
match this year, and can't find them. They're a black metal roundtop
design, with an inset iridescent glass medallion of a dragonfly. They =
are
just the right size to attach to the sides of the back turret, which has
five sides. This year, after I bought more clematis and needed =
someplace to
plant them, I thought of the 3 sides of the turret I hadn't covered yet. =
So
there the clematis were planted, but no more dragonfly trellises! Wah!
Moral of the story: Don't wait for David to build you more trellises =
Karen,
just go out and buy them!

I used to say that too, before David said he doesn't have time to build
any more trellises for them to climb on. Last year I bought metal
trellises at Lowe's, but with the freeze/thaw we get, they just don't go
down in the ground far enough to be very solid. They're only tolerable
for smaller clematis in my yard.
So, now I'm in my daylily phase and say there's always room for more
daylilies. I still do love clematis though.

I already bought two of those from Lowe's last year for clematis, except
mine have the butterfly glass inset instead of the dragonfly. They're
okay for small clematis, but nothing that gets too unwieldy. I sure
couldn't use them for my Nellie Moser, or Henryi or Sweet Autumn! But I
have my trellises free-standing. If you're going to attach yours to the
house, then that will stabilize them and they should work great.

I would love to have some of those, too! Of course, you see things
everyplace until you decide to buy them.....
