We finally got some hummingbird plants to live and grow, including a red
monarda. We already had Woodbine, aka Coral honeysuckle growing and the hummers
really like both. I've also seen them feeding on the red hibiscus in the front
yard and a lily like plant (don't know the name) that has small orange flowers
on a long stem. I'm hoping to phase out the feeders except for the ones that
pass through in off seasons.

George, is it blackberry lily or belamcanda?

Why are you asking me that? Remember, I'm male, I can name food plants but
flowers other than roses, iris, sunflowers, etc are just flowers. You know, that
little orange flower on a stem.
I'll ask her. They are invasive though and only bloom for a short time.

I suspect your 'maleness' has little to do with it. Rather your interest
leans toward food plants as opposed to ornamentals. This has nothing to do
with gender. Personally, I grow food for the eyes as well as the body.
