Just opened this month's Discover magazine (April 1999), and the
Vital Signs column had a nice discussion of classic jimsonweed
poisoning. Recommended reading for those of you who grow Datura
or Brugmansia. It's not up on the website yet, but may be
posted later.
"red as a beet, blind as a bat, dry as a bone, mad as a hatter, hotter
than hell" -- classic symptoms of anticholinergic poisonings, like
jimsonweed. Except there's usually major seizures, too.
