Thanks for the responses to my Allium seed question. Think I'll just stick
them somewhere and see what happens. FUN!

Was visiting several gardens on "Studio Tour". Really neat twice a year.
Go from one studio to another, blown glass, metal sculpture, pottery, silk
painting, oil and water color paintings, etc. The homes, studios and gardens
are an added bonus. Some exquisite artists out there! Anyway saw a lovely
flower - Beverly Bells. Lavender flowers on 2' stalks. Anyone know what it
really is?

Sydney - Northern California zone 9 and zone 9 ... what are the odds

That's It !! Thanks, was not in the Sunset Western for common name. Blooms
mid-April - November. The flowers I saw were a lighter blue/lavender
though. I like both. Think I need this one! Sydney

Does it look like this photo?

If so, it's Rehmannia elata ( Beverly Bells ) ...according to Plant Delights
Nursery.

Could it be "lady bells" that Barb was just talking about? Adenophora-the
flowers are called blue-there are darker and lighter ones, however, and
lighter blue might look like lavender...

Yeah, it does look like a winner. You're no good for my budget, Sydney.
It's supposed to be a good groundcover, too, heavy blooms in spring and then
sporatically throughout summer. But only hardy to Zone 7 USDA...tempting
anyway. :)
