speaking of bonsai

I had to laugh when I read the post about the "bonsai" flowers. I forgot what
type it was now. This growing season I made the mistake of growing very tall,
sunset type of sunflowers in a 6 inch pot, about 7 of them in it all told, and
they are blooming now, but the flowering heads on the sunflowers are the most
petite I've ever seen.
They stand about 4 1/2 feet tall with blooms about 2 1/2 inches across.
They are perfect in every other way though. Maybe I'll save the seeds and
plant again next season...in the ground!
We are moving to a "real" house at the end of this month. I'm very excited,
as I've always lived in apt's or townhouse, and have never done gardening in
the ground, always in containers. Wish me luck!
And thanks to all of you, you have been a wonderful source of inspiration and
knowledge!
