Hi Barb. This seems like a worthwhile exercise. . I have a bulb
catalogue here that offers 6 camassia cultivars. Three of them are
leichtlinii: 'Alba,' 'Blue Danube' and 'Semiplena." Price ranges from
10/$9 for Blue Danube to 10/$37 for Semiplena, described as having
offwhite semidouble flowers. The others are as might be expected from
the names. What kind do you have (assuming these cultivars are real )?
Low prices usually suggest to me that propogation is fairly easy; high
prices that it's worth trying.
I've had pretty good luck with other bulb seeds, usually takes 2-3 years
to get blossoms and the tough part for me is remembering where they are
in the nursery bed the second year. I'd try to plant them fresh, give
them a year in a bed or row (that's better-marked than mine) and let
nature stratify them if necessary. And I'll look for a reference to
camassia in my growing propogation library.

Hi Max, I had C. leichtlinii Atrocoerulea fo the first time this year, they
were stunning and a good substitute for the Agapanthus which don't seem to
like France! I plan to leave them well alone in the hope that they will
multiply next year.
