After all my work digging up my Caladium bulbs last fall, I neglected to
check on them until yesterday. I had put them in mesh baskets. I had also
set them in sun to dry after digging them up, but they may have had moisture
on them when I put them away. Now they have a coating of white mold. Them
have not gone mushy on me though. Can I still plant them???
Appreciate any help you might have on this.

Pauline,
If the bulbs aren't soft I would certainly give planting them a try. Just
remember not to water them too much until you see that they are beginning to
sprout and get leaves. I have had some good luck with caladiums that I thought
were dead, planting them anyway and having them live. I hope it works.

Pauline,
The bulbs are sound, and I'd plant them. I think I'd wash them off before I
planted them....and I like to give bulbs a short soak before I plant them,
anyway. It seems to give them a head start on the growing season.
You might want to apply a fungicide, too, if you are worried about the mold.

A root is a flower that disdains fame.
Thanks for responses. I will take advice and plant them and see what
happens.
